On Martin Luther King Day it is fitting that we reflect on the power diversity has to make America a force to be reckoned with. When we limit the participation of any group we don’t have the best and brightest working on our pressing problems. The movie, Hidden Figures, makes this crystal clear.
Yet, 52 years after the Civil Rights Act was passed, we seem incapable of promoting and celebrating diversity. It is time for a reset. Each one of us must do everything in our power to be sure that our country is living up to its promise that all have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
What will you do this week to assure that someone who is different from you gets a fair shake?
